The part leaves your printer and goes straight into use: a mounting bracket for a camera, a tool holder for the workshop wall, a cover for a small electronics project. It needs to look finished, not like a prototype, and you need to print it again next month and get the same result.

Creality Soleyin Ultra PLA in Black is a 1.75 mm polylactic acid (PLA) filament held to a ±0.02 mm diameter tolerance, vacuum-sealed with desiccant and wound in neat, even rows. It prints from 30 to 300 mm/s at 190 to 230°C on most 1.75 mm FDM printers.

The result is a clean, professional black part that matches the equipment around it, printed from a spool that behaves the same every time.

1.75 mm ±0.02 mm | 1 kg net | Deep black | 30 to 300 mm/s | 190 to 230°C nozzle | Vacuum-sealed with desiccant | Fits most 1.75 mm FDM printers

Who Creality Soleyin Ultra PLA Black is built for

Small print farm operators

Black is the colour customers order most for practical products such as phone stands, headphone hooks, cable management and replacement parts. A dependable everyday black at a budget-friendly cost per kilogram protects your margin on these high-volume items. Neat winding and vacuum packaging reduce the tangles and moisture problems that ruin unattended runs. Example: print 40 black headphone stands across a weekend on two K1C 2025 printers and ship them on Monday.

Engineers and technicians

Jigs, fixtures, sensor mounts and enclosures for indoor electronics usually end up next to black hardware. Soleyin Ultra PLA Black blends in and hides small cosmetic flaws, while the ±0.02 mm tolerance keeps holes and press fits repeatable from print to print. Example: print a set of five matching DIN-rail sensor brackets for a control cabinet and get the same fit on every one.

Hobbyist makers

You want parts that look finished without painting: gaming accessories, desk organisers, drone parts and replacement knobs. Black gives a neat, uniform finish straight off the plate, and the filament runs on stock PLA profiles. It prints with low warping on a 45 to 60°C bed, so you can start straight away. Example: print a full controller stand and charging dock overnight on an Ender-3 V3 SE.

What sets Soleyin Ultra PLA Black apart

A spool you can reorder without retuning

When you print the same product every week, you need each spool to behave like the last. Creality holds Soleyin Ultra PLA to a ±0.02 mm diameter and roundness tolerance on the 1.75 mm nominal size. That keeps flow steady, so wall thickness and hole sizes stay consistent. Once you have calibrated flow rate and pressure advance for one spool, the same profile carries straight over to the next one.

Prints fast when your printer can

The filament is rated from 30 to 300 mm/s. On a slower bed-slinger it prints like a well-made standard PLA. On a fast fused filament fabrication machine with a high-flow hot end, you can push batch work much faster. Creality recommends a flow and retraction calibration before running above 200 mm/s, with the part-cooling fan at 100% so overhangs and bridges set cleanly.

Arrives dry, feeds without tangles

PLA is hygroscopic, and damp filament causes stringing and rough walls. On black parts, fine strings and blobs are easy to see against the dark surface. Each spool arrives vacuum-sealed with a desiccant pack, and automated winding lays every turn neatly beside the last. That reduces the knots and crossovers that stop a print hours into a job.

Strength for everyday end-use parts

Creality lists a tensile strength of 45.5 MPa, a flexural strength of 70.7 MPa and an elongation at break of 12.9% in the X-Y direction. That is in line with good standard PLA, stiff and dimensionally stable. It suits indoor end-use parts, fixtures, enclosures and accessories. Black absorbs more sunlight than lighter colours, so avoid using it in a hot car or in direct sun. Use PETG or ASA for those parts.

Choosing between Soleyin Ultra PLA and Hyper PLA

Both are Creality PLAs on 1 kg spools. Choose by speed and budget.

Filament Rated speed Best for
Soleyin Ultra PLA Black (this spool) 30 to 300 mm/s Everyday end-use parts, high-volume products, cost-sensitive batches
Creality Hyper PLA, Black High-speed formulation Maximum-speed profiles on K1 and K2 series printers

Frequently asked questions about Soleyin Ultra PLA Black

Is Soleyin Ultra PLA Black better than Creality Hyper PLA Black?

For most everyday parts, it gives the same practical result at a lower cost per kilogram. Creality Hyper PLA is formulated for the fastest profiles on K-series printers. Choose Hyper PLA if you routinely print at maximum speed, and Soleyin for general and batch printing.

Can I use black PLA parts outdoors or in a car?

No, not where they get hot. PLA starts to soften at around 55 to 60°C, and black parts absorb more sunlight than light colours. A dashboard or a sunny windowsill can exceed that easily. For outdoor or in-car parts, print in PETG or ASA instead.

Why is my Soleyin PLA blobbing or stringing?

Moisture or too low a nozzle temperature are the usual causes, and on black parts the strings show clearly. Some owners report rough extrusion and blobs on fast printers. Dry the spool at about 50°C for four to six hours in a Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer, then raise the nozzle temperature in 5°C steps and re-run a flow calibration.

How should I store an opened spool?

Keep it sealed with desiccant, away from humidity and direct sun. PLA absorbs moisture over a few weeks in open air, faster in coastal cities such as Durban and Cape Town. A Creality Filament Vacuum Storage Kit keeps opened spools ready to print.

Do you stock Soleyin Ultra PLA Black locally in South Africa?

Yes, we hold Creality filament at our Centurion and Boksburg stores and ship nationwide by courier. You can collect in store or have it delivered, and our local team can help you dial in settings for your printer.
