Your printer is halfway through a two-material job, PETG for the part and a second spool for supports, and only one of them has been dried. The support layers string, the interface fuses to the part, and an eight-hour print ends up in the bin. Drying one spool at a time does not keep up when your work uses two.
Most filaments are hygroscopic. They absorb moisture from the air until it turns to steam in the hotend, causing stringing, bubbles and weak layer bonding.
The Creality Space Pi V2 Plus Filament Dryer holds two spools in one heated chamber, pushes 12.79 CFM of hot air around them at up to 75°C, and feeds either spool straight to your printer. Two dry spools, ready at the same time.
Two-spool capacity | Drying up to 75°C | 12.79 CFM single-fan dual-duct airflow | 2nd-gen temperature and humidity sensor | 12 material presets | Power-loss memory | Print directly from the dryer

Who the Creality Space Pi V2 Plus filament dryer is built for
Small print farm operators
Your job is to keep machines printing, not to babysit spools. The Space Pi V2 Plus dries the spool on the printer and the next spool in the queue at the same time, so a changeover never waits on a drying cycle. Power-loss memory resumes the cycle after loadshedding, and at 186 mm wide it still fits on a shelf beside the printer. On a PETG production run, you swap in a spool that has already been dried for 6 hours, with no gap between jobs.
Multi-material makers
If you print with two materials, both need to be dry. Load your main filament and your support or second colour into the same chamber, and the 2nd-gen sensor keeps them at one controlled temperature. Pair materials with matching presets, such as PETG with TPU at 60°C, or PLA with PLA at 50°C. Print a flexible TPU gasket inside a rigid PETG housing, both spools feeding from the dryer for the full job.
Prototyping and design engineers
Nylon, PA-CF and polycarbonate give you functional strength, but only when dry. The 75°C ceiling matches the preset Creality specifies for PA, PA-CF and PC, and the doubled airflow reaches the inner windings of two spools in one cycle. Dry a spool of PA-CF alongside a spool of PC overnight, then print gear housings and load-bearing brackets the next day without stopping to re-dry.
What sets the Creality Space Pi V2 Plus filament dryer apart
Twice the airflow of the original Plus
Moisture leaves filament only as fast as warm, dry air carries it away. The Space Pi V2 Plus uses a redesigned single-fan dual-duct system that moves up to 12.79 CFM, more than double the 5.98 CFM of the original Space Pi Plus. The ducts split that flow around both spools in a 360° path, so the spool at the back dries as evenly as the one at the front. You reach a stable low humidity reading sooner, which matters most with dense engineering filaments.
75°C for nylon, PC and carbon-fibre blends
The original Space Pi Plus stops at 70°C. The V2 Plus raises the ceiling to 75°C across a 45 to 75°C range, which brings nylon, PC, ASA, PP, PET and fibre-filled grades such as PA-CF and PETG-CF into its working envelope. Creality's preset table puts all of those at 75°C. An advanced PTC heater with a ceramic element sits at the fan inlet and delivers a stable stream of hot air, rated at 160 W for the whole unit.
One chamber, two spools, one rule to follow
The Space Pi V2 Plus has a single heated chamber, so both spools dry at the same set temperature. That suits most real workflows: two spools of the same material, or two materials that share a preset. Spools must be no more than 190 mm in diameter, with a combined width of up to 150 mm, which covers two standard 1 kg spools or one wide spool. Most 2 kg spools are about 200 mm across and will not fit, so measure before you buy. If you need two different temperatures at once, the X4L's independent chambers are the better fit.
A sensor and screen that show you when drying is done
The second-generation temperature and humidity sensor reacts in real time to small changes inside the chamber and corrects them to hold your set point. The anti-static LCD touchscreen shows current temperature (PV), target temperature (SV), selected material, remaining time and relative humidity. When the humidity reading levels off, the spools have released most of their water. Choose from 12 material presets, set the timer for up to 48 hours, and switch between °C and °F with a tap.
Loadshedding pauses the cycle, not the result
A two-spool nylon cycle can run 8 to 12 hours, long enough to meet a power interruption in many South African workshops. Power-loss memory stores the last drying parameters and restarts automatically when power returns, with no need to reselect the material or reset the timer. The unit runs on 220 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, straight from the local grid, and a one-touch switch on the case turns it on and off.
Dry and print in one step
A heat-protected roller system supports both spools with low friction, so the extruder pulls filament smoothly while the chamber stays at temperature. Feed either spool straight to your FDM printer, which keeps TPU and nylon dry through multi-day prints instead of letting them absorb moisture on an open spool holder.

Materials and software for the Creality Space Pi V2 Plus filament dryer
Filaments this dryer handles
- PLA: dry at 50°C, print at roughly 190 to 220°C. Do not exceed 50 to 55°C, because PLA softens close to 60°C and the spool can deform.
- PETG: dry at 60°C, print at roughly 230 to 250°C. Dry before you tune retraction, since wet PETG strings regardless of settings.
- TPU: dry at 60°C, print at roughly 210 to 230°C. Shares a preset with PETG, so the two dry well together for flexible and rigid combinations.
- ABS and ASA: dry at 75°C, print at roughly 240 to 260°C. Print in an enclosed printer to control warping.
- PC: dry at 75°C, print at roughly 260 to 300°C. Allow a long cycle and use an all-metal hotend.
- Nylon (PA) and PA-CF: dry at 75°C, print at roughly 250 to 290°C. Keep the spool in the dryer for the whole print, as nylon absorbs moisture within hours.
- PETG-CF and PLA-CF: dry at the base polymer's preset. Use a hardened steel nozzle, because carbon fibre wears brass quickly.
Always check your filament manufacturer's drying recommendation. Add PLA, PETG, ABS and flexible filament or speciality filaments to the same order.
Printers and slicers
- Printers: works with any FDM printer that takes 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm filament, including the Creality range, Bambu Lab, Anycubic and Prusa machines.
- Creality Print: run a flow calibration on freshly dried filament so your saved profile matches the material's true condition.
- OrcaSlicer: repeat flow and pressure advance tests after drying, because results measured on wet filament are unreliable.
- Bambu Studio: feed nylon or TPU from the dryer through the external spool path on Bambu Lab printers.
- UltiMaker Cura and PrusaSlicer: retraction settings tuned on dry filament carry over between spools far more consistently.

Frequently asked questions about the Creality Space Pi V2 Plus filament dryer
Should I buy the Space Pi V2 Plus or two single Space Pi V2 dryers?
Buy the V2 Plus if both spools use the same drying temperature, and two single V2 units if they do not. The V2 Plus costs less than two V2 dryers, uses one plug and one footprint, and moves 12.79 CFM through its chamber. Two separate V2 units let you dry PLA at 50°C and nylon at 75°C at the same time.
Can the Space Pi V2 Plus dry nylon and carbon-fibre filament?
Yes. It reaches 75°C, the preset Creality specifies for PA, PA-CF, PC, ASA, ABS, PP and PET, and has a 60°C preset for PETG-CF. Run nylon for a long cycle and print it directly from the dryer so it stays dry during the job. Use a hardened steel nozzle for any carbon-fibre filament.
Will a 2 kg spool fit in the Space Pi V2 Plus?
Only if it is 190 mm or less in diameter. The chamber accepts up to 150 mm of combined spool width, so width is rarely the problem, but most 2 kg spools are about 200 mm across and will not close inside. Two standard 1 kg spools, or one wide spool under 190 mm, fit without issue.
What maintenance does the Space Pi V2 Plus need?
Very little maintenance is needed. Clear filament offcuts and dust from the chamber so they do not block the ducts, and wipe the rollers if debris builds up. Drying does not replace storage, so seal spools you are not using in an airtight bag or box with fresh desiccant after each cycle.
Does the Space Pi V2 Plus work on South African power and through loadshedding?
Yes. It runs on 220 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, which matches the South African grid, and draws 160 W. Power-loss memory restarts the last drying cycle automatically when power returns after loadshedding. Confirm the supplied plug type with our team when you order, in case you need an adaptor for a Type M socket.
