You want a vase, a dragon or a set of desk organisers that looks finished the moment it leaves the build plate, without painting and without a multi-material unit. Single-colour PLA gives clean parts, but they can look flat on a shelf or a market table. Rainbow filament solves that, until the colour shifts so slowly that a small print only ever shows one shade.
Creality Hyper Rainbow PLA in Wild Blossom, Short Gradient, changes colour roughly every 6 to 8 metres, blending through blue, green and pink tones. That spacing suits small and medium models, so a figurine or a planter shows a visible shift instead of a single block of colour.
Multi-colour prints from one 1kg spool, at speeds of up to 300 mm/s.

Who Creality Hyper Rainbow PLA Wild Blossom is built for
Hobbyist Makers printing display pieces
You print models to keep, gift or show off, and you want colour without the cost of a multi-material system. The short gradient puts several transitions into a medium print, and the Hyper formula keeps surfaces smooth at speed. On a fast CoreXY printer, a 150 mm articulated dragon prints in one evening and fades from blue through green into pink, with no painting.
Small print farms and market sellers
Keyrings, fidget toys, bookmarks and small planters sell on colour. Because no two parts on a plate catch the gradient at exactly the same point, a full plate of 40 keyrings comes out as 40 slightly different pieces. The ±0.03 mm diameter tolerance keeps extrusion consistent across long unattended runs.
Schools and STEM educators
Wild Blossom turns simple classroom projects such as name tags, geometric shapes and pencil holders into colourful take-home items, with no extra settings for the teacher to manage. It prints like standard PLA at 190 to 230°C, so it runs on the same entry-level printers already in the classroom, such as the Creality Ender-3 V3 SE 3D Printer.
What sets this Creality Hyper Rainbow PLA apart
A colour change you can actually see on a small print
Most rainbow filament is wound with long colour runs, which look great on a large vase but leave a 20 g figurine in one colour. At 1.75mm and a density of 1.25 g/cm³, one metre of this filament weighs about 3 g, so a 6 to 8 m transition equals roughly 18 to 24 g of printed material. In practice, a print in that weight range shows a full shift, and anything heavier shows several. A 1kg spool holds about 330 m of filament, giving you around 40 to 55 transitions per spool.
Print speed without a dull, streaky finish
Creality's Hyper series uses a higher-flow PLA formula, and the Rainbow variant is rated for printing speeds of up to 300 mm/s. That means you can run it on a K1, K2 or Ender-3 V3 series machine at high speed without the under-extruded, matte streaks that standard PLA shows when the hotend cannot melt it fast enough.
Diameter control for long, unattended jobs
A rainbow spool is only useful if it prints reliably from the first metre to the last. Creality specifies a diameter of 1.75mm with a tolerance of ±0.03 mm, which keeps the volume of plastic per millimetre of filament consistent. That reduces the risk of under-extrusion and clogs during overnight jobs on a print farm or a shared school printer.
Works with the slicer you already use
Load the Creality Hyper PLA profile in Creality Print, or a generic PLA profile in OrcaSlicer, Cura or PrusaSlicer, and start with a nozzle temperature of 210°C. Your slicer does not need any colour settings, because the gradient is in the filament itself. To get more colour variety on small parts, print several copies on one plate, and use spiral vase mode for tall, thin-walled pieces that show the gradient as continuous bands.
Cardboard spool and vacuum-sealed packaging
Each spool ships vacuum sealed and wound on a recyclable cardboard spool. PLA is hygroscopic, so keep the spool sealed with desiccant between jobs to avoid stringing and a rough surface. Cardboard spools can shed fibres in automatic feeders, and many users fit a printed spool adapter ring before loading one into a multi-colour unit.

Frequently asked questions about Creality Hyper Rainbow PLA Wild Blossom
Should I buy the Short Gradient or the Long Gradient version?
Buy the Short Gradient if most of your prints weigh under about 150 g. Its colour shifts every 6 to 8 m, while the Long Gradient shifts every 8 to 12 m and suits large vases and helmets. For a PLA+ rainbow on a plastic spool, compare the Creality Ender PLA+ Filament, 1Kg, 1.75mm, Rainbow.
Will a small print show the rainbow effect?
Yes, if the print uses roughly 20 g of filament or more, it will usually show at least one full transition. Below that, a single part may stay mostly one colour. Print several copies on one plate, or combine small parts into one job, so the gradient spreads across the batch.
Which settings should I start with?
Start at 210°C on the nozzle, 50 to 60°C on the bed and 100% part cooling, using the Creality Hyper PLA profile in Creality Print. It works on textured PEI, smooth PEI and glass with adhesive. Run one test print before committing to a full plate.
Does it wear out the nozzle, and how should I store it?
No, this is unfilled PLA, so a standard brass nozzle lasts as long as it would with any other PLA. Store the spool sealed with desiccant, and if you see stringing or a rough surface, dry it at around 50°C for four to six hours.
Will Wild Blossom prints survive a South African summer?
Yes indoors, but keep PLA parts out of hot cars and away from sunny windowsills. PLA softens at around 55 to 60°C, which a closed car interior can exceed in summer. For outdoor or heat-exposed parts, choose PETG instead. We ship nationwide, and our local team can help you pick the right material.
